Free Photoshop CC Extension “Dodge & Burn” + Video Tutorial
A few days ago Adobe release Photoshop CC - a good reason for me to release somethin as well: A free extension panel for Adobe Photoshop CC that I created! Actually I have been using this myself for quite a while now, but I just recently upgraded it to support Photoshop CC and decided to offer it publicly now - for free!
The Dodge & Burn Extension Panel 1.1.4 for Photoshop CC allows you to create 50%-Gray-Layers in both “Soft Light” and “Overlay” mode plus a preconfigured Channel Mixer adjustment layer to enhance visibility when retouching areas with faint contrast - all with the click of a button! If you are a high-end retoucher dealing with non-destructive dodge & burn techniques, you will come to love this handy little time saver!

I created a short video tutorial to explain how to use and install it and give some general introduction to non-destructive dodge & burn techniques in Photoshop CC, but though my panel already supports both German and English, I’m afraid the video is currently available in German only - sorry, so little time… It’s all fairly simple though, so enjoy this freebie!

Photoshop Tricks For DOCMA 1/2013
For the 50th anniversary issue of the german DOCMA magazine I contributed two pages of Photoshop tips and tricks, including an easy way to get rid of halos in HDR shots, adjusting the print size preview to your display’s resolution for more reliable preview results and more. DOCMA 1/2013 is available from December 12, 2012.
Gold For Cologne!
The Olympic Summer Games in London are just over, yet I already have to announce another gold medal for Germany: The “Graphischer Klub Stuttgart” has awarded my “Köln Panorama” calendar with a gold medal at the gregor international calendar award 2013!
The jury voting had been moved forward this year again so that publishers can use the prestigeous award for adversting - as can I. There had been 858 submissions of calendars from international publishers of which only ten won a gold medal - including my own Köln Panorama calendar. The award ceremon will be held in January 2013.

New Cologne Panorama Calendar
Not that long ago my “Cologne At Night 2013” Calendar was released - now it’s already time for a new one: My new calendar Köln Panorama will be released on July 19, 2012.
But this is not just any new calender! Köln Panorama consits of panorama photographs of Cologne, Germany in a king-size-deluxe format of 120 x 48 cm! It’s a perpetual calendar and it’s limited to 999 prints, so hurry up and get yours!

Cologne At Night 2013
On May 24th, 2012 my new calendar “Cologne At Night 2013” will be released. After the very successful Cologne At Night 2012 calendar, this is already the third Cologne calendar with my photography. It includes photographs of Cologne Cathedral with the Musical Dome (right), the Hahnentor at Rudolfplatz, the infamous water gauge of the river Rhine, the rider memorial of Friedrich Wilhelm III., Nord-Süd-Fahrt, the Lanxess Arena, the boardwalk and many other nightly sights. A sequel for 2014 is also planned.
